Health is a process.
LMNT Co-Founder Robb Wolf shares the health journey that sparked a Salty Rebellion.

I NEEDED MORE SALT. PERIOD.
I'd been on a low-carb, whole food diet for years, but something was holding me back. While working with my coaches, we unlocked a powerful insight: I needed more salt. Period.

POPULAR PRODUCTS DIDN'T CUT IT.
They're too high in sugar and woefully lacking in actual electrolytes — so we were making our own at home, but that was messy and time-consuming. When I dialed in the formulation I immediately felt my fitness, sleep, and brain functioning on new levels.

SO WE CREATED LMNT.
Turns out, I needed to pay as much attention to my electrolytes as I did my food. And I’m not alone — we’ve seen this play out across thousands of health journeys. My coaches helped me with this critical missing link — I hope LMNT can be as meaningful for you.
Home is where the salt is.
FAQs
How much LMNT can I drink per day?
How much LMNT can I drink per day?
Determining how many stick packs or cans to consume daily is quite dependent on the individual. The latest science indicates consuming 4–6 grams of sodium, 3.5–5 grams of potassium, and 400–600 milligrams of magnesium per day leads to optimal health outcomes. These electrolytes are best consumed from whole foods, but we designed LMNT to help fill in any dietary gaps. We hear that many folks find 1-2 stick packs or cans per day to be optimal, often depending on their activity level. Others use more.
Is LMNT only for people on a low-carb or keto diet?
Is LMNT only for people on a low-carb or keto diet?
No, we created LMNT to provide the best electrolyte drink mix ever. While our product is naturally low-carb and keto-friendly, LMNT is formulated so anyone can meet their electrolyte needs without adding unhealthy ingredients to their diet.
Can I make my own electrolyte drink mix at home with LMNT ratios?
Can I make my own electrolyte drink mix at home with LMNT ratios?
In the many years we spent mixing electrolyte drinks at home before LMNT existed, we made many messes and had quite a few misses, but we also came up with several great recipes. If you prefer to source your own electrolytes instead of buying LMNT, jot this down and grab a kitchen scale: • 2,500 mg sodium chloride (for 1,000 mg sodium) • 385 mg potassium chloride (for 200 mg potassium) • 390 mg magnesium malate OR 265 mg di-magnesium malate (for 60 mg magnesium) These are the same science-backed electrolyte amounts and ratios in each grab-and-go stick pack of LMNT. It’s the equivalent of our simplest product: LMNT Raw Unflavored. You can use the electrolytes above as a base to create your own recipes (add your own flavor), or simply follow this guide to recreate 4 of our most popular flavors.
How is LMNT different from other electrolyte brands?
How is LMNT different from other electrolyte brands?
It’s simple: LMNT is a zero-sugar electrolyte drink mix, with everything you need and nothing you don't. Our ratio stands out: LMNT delivers a truly meaningful dose of electrolytes without the sugar, junky fillers, or artificial coloring found in other “sports drinks.”
When should I drink LMNT?
When should I drink LMNT?
LMNT is great to use in a variety of situations - we receive feedback across quite a broad spectrum in that regard. So here's the short answer: The most common usage is first thing in the morning, and about 30 mins prior to a workout, high-intensity activity, or when mental clarity is at a premium. A good thing to remember is when it comes to replacing lost electrolytes–preparing ahead of time is much better than chasing them afterward. We certainly encourage folks to test out what works best for them, and to let us know–we are always eager for feedback!
